The StandardX on Rose Street in Fitzroy is the Australian outpost of Standard International's design-led hotel brand, and one of only a handful of StandardX properties in the world. Designed by Melbourne studio Hecker Guthrie, the interiors balance irreverence with quality: terrazzo floors, a statement fireplace, macrame columns by local artist Sarah Smalltown, and paintings by Dane Lovett sit alongside custom antique furniture and thoughtfully sourced materials. The hotel is embedded in Fitzroy's creative ecosystem, steps from the Rose Street Artists' Market, independent galleries, and the suburb's well-documented bar and restaurant scene. On-site Bistro X serves neighbourhood dining, and the rooftop bar On Top offers views across Fitzroy and the Melbourne skyline. It is a natural setting for editorial shoots, brand partnerships, intimate press events, and media stays.
