White Bay Power Station is a massive heritage-listed industrial complex on the Rozelle harbourfront, constructed between 1912 and 1917 to power Sydney's original tram and rail network. After more than a century, it has been transformed into one of Australia's most dramatic public arts and event venues. The three principal spaces tell very different stories: the Turbine Hall is a vast column-free industrial hall of extraordinary scale; the Boiler House is a multi-level space with large industrial windows; and the Pump House is more intimate, with original machinery still in place. For event photography and videography, White Bay Power Station is one of the most significant venue additions to Sydney's landscape in recent years. The Turbine Hall's scale and heritage industrial aesthetic create an interior environment that has no direct equivalent in Sydney. Large industrial windows in the Boiler House allow natural light, while the Pump House's preserved machinery and original brickwork offer textural detail that suits both editorial work and commercial production. Individual buildings or the entire venue are available for hire. The harbourfront location in Rozelle is accessible from the CBD by water or road, and the venue management team coordinates all production enquiries.
