Event photography and videography at Phoenix Central Park

Phoenix Central Park is an extraordinary private arts complex in Chippendale, conceived by philanthropist Judith Neilson AM. The site houses two architecturally significant wings: a private gallery designed by John Wardle Architects and a performance space by Durbach Block Jaggers, shaped as a bell form with stepped, contoured timber ribs that create a warm, intimate theatre-in-the-round atmosphere unlike anywhere else in Sydney. The space is reserved for performances and exhibitions, open to the public through a ballot ticketing system. For event photographers and videographers, attending a performance here is a genuinely rare opportunity, the timber-rib interior catches light in a way that rewards careful documentation, and the calibre of artists and cultural moments that unfold here makes it compelling territory for editorial and arts photography. Phoenix Central Park does not offer commercial event hire. Sonna has experience covering cultural and arts events at invitation-tier venues across Sydney, and this is one of the most architecturally distinctive spaces in the country for that kind of work.
